Buku Boyman Pramuka Pdf File >>>> Though the south of the island of Java, in particular in the city of Yogyakarta, is often associated with classical Islamic arts and culture, there are also many cultural hotspots in the region that offer visitors an opportunity to enjoy different aspects of local culture. One such place belongs to one of Indonesia's most popular artists, Buku Boyam. Buku was born in 1970 in Malang but grew up in Yogyakarta. He studied Visual Communication at Hasanuddin University where he made his name for his innovative approach with paint and canvas during his youth. His unique take on the arts world brought him national acclaim and recognition by the government, who awarded him with the 'Young Artist Award' in 1993. Buku's home is located in Yogyakarta, near the northern slopes of Merapi volcano. It is an old but quaint house which used to belong to his father who died when Buku was still young. The house has since become known as the 'House of Art'. The interior of Buku's home is filled with murals and artwork collected over many years, creating a unique environment for visitors to appreciate. One can find art crammed into every corner of his home; on the walls, ceilings, furniture and even scattered across old newspapers covering much of his floor space. The artwork ranges from various paintings, drawings and sculptures to the more unique, such as a 'pancakes' of melted lead from a pencil sharpener collection. In Buku's own words: 'I cannot describe my home. It is a house of art. The more you look, the more there is to see.' Buku is a household name in Yogyakarta and has had many opportunities to paint professionally for international companies, most notably Michelin Tires and Gillette – whom he has been working with for over 15 years now. In fact Gillette invited Buku to paint on their products for sale as part of their 'Archives Collection'. Buku has also played a key role in the Yogyakarta City Government's 'Quality of Life' initiative to promote the arts and tourism, which has resulted in many of Buku's works being used on Sheraton hotels throughout Indonesia including hotels in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan and Cirebon. Buku often takes visitors into his home to see some of his artworks on display. The pieces are all unique pieces that are genuine pieces that Buku has created or obtained from local artists and craftsmen. 'My paintings and murals cover every balcony and wall. Everywhere you look there is art — if you just walk around — everywhere,' says Buku about his home. 'The richness of Yogyakarta is that the village environment, the sanctity of its atmosphere, will allow you to experience not just a simple traditional culture but also an abundance of art, giving it context.' BIOGRAPHY OF BUKU BOYAM UPTEG By Fadhilah Halimah Buku Boyam also belongs to two association in Indonesia.
